I have just been told that, after two years of addressing holiday cards to "Mr. Jon and Mrs. Jane Doe" that this is incorrect business practice and we're reverting back to addressing them to "Mr. and Mrs. Jon Doe."
I don't know why this bothers me as much as it does.

Incorrect business is to deny a woman's right to be addressed by her actual name.

Correct business practice (and decent human being practice) dictates that one acknowledge that it isn't 1952 anymore, and that it is not acceptable in address, word, or deed, to treat a married woman as a mere extension of her husband. I curse these regressive putzes with the detritus of a thousand burned bras.
I'm mildly excited about the confusion that will result from my impending spawn having my last name only.
